Welcome to the Circuit Clerk's office.

 

The Circuit Clerk provides a wide variety of services to the people of Newton County, including:

  • Serving as clerk to the circuit courts, which handle civil and criminal trials
  • Assisting the elections commission and providing election information to our citizens
  • Conducting voter registration
  • Coordinating the jury pool process and providing jury duty information
  • Issuing marriage licenses

 

I am a lifelong resident of Newton County and have had the honor to serve you as circuit clerk since 2012. My staff and I are fully prepared to answer any questions you have and to guide you through the process and paperwork that may be required for any of the functions this office handles. The Newton County Courthouse is in Decatur, MS. In 1836, Newton County was formed from parts of Neshoba County, and Decatur was selected as the site for the county seat.
